Education

Homerostheater has experience playing shows for students at schools throughout the Netherlands. We often attach a workshop or Q&A session afterwards, where students can ask any questions they like about the text, actors choices, or direction of the play. We love working with, and hearing insights from students and we find that engagement is often even greater if a teacher has had time to go over the text with the students in class beforehand. Students often have the capacity to ask surprising questions!

One For The Road

“It was exceptionally well done and thought-provoking. The students response to it was very positive.”

Anthony Cunningham – High School Drama Teacher at the American School of The Hague

The Pillowman

“Again we were impressed by the high quality of the performance. The English is excellent, the setting quite original and the acting is really marvelous. It is so rare to have a chance to see English drama in English in the Netherlands. We had prepared the play very well with our pupils, so that a lively discussion with the actors developed afterwards. It is great to have a theatre company perform in your own school and with the low price they ask you are in for a bargain as compared to paying for theatre tickets and train fare.”

Dr. Guido van Rijn – English Teacher at Het Kennemer Lyceum, Overveen

We are proud that The Pillowman participated with great success at the Festival of European Anglophone Theatrical Societies (FEATS) in 2009 in Brussels. Our performance won the 3rd place in the overall category of Best Production, and actor Wander Bruijel won the Blackie Award for Best Actor for his role of Katurian.
